The first and one of the most crucial steps affiliate marketers NEED to do is choose a profitable niche. Affiliate niches are a dime a dozen, but not ALL of them are worth your time. (we're trying to make money here....right?) We also need to take into account the competition a niche has. The more competition, the harder it is to make affiliate commissions....(but that also means theirs more money to be made!)We've put together a couple key tactics you can use to find SUPER profitable niches. But first, let's set some guidelines to make sure everyone is on the same page.
You'll hear a lot of so called "experts" say, choose a niche your passionate in - but your passion isn't ALWAYS where the money is....(though it's not necessarily a bad thing, considering you'll be writing content directed towards that specific audience)
The first thing you'll want to do (that you'll need to do!) is choose a broad "target" market or niche to build your affiliate business around.
For Example: Weight Loss
So if this was our niche our target market would be individuals wanting to lose weight and/or get in shape.
Notice how broad of our market this is. When we target a larger group of individuals like this we're able to promote to a core group of people with not one but multiple affiliate offers. Usually the broader the market, the more money to be made. (but also more competition!)
The idea here is to find customers who are repeat buyers. We want to flat out simplify things, and still make as much money as possible in the process. So instead of focusing on tons of little niches, we want to focus on one BROAD target market - and promote multiple, related offers to them.
